Human male fighter, twin of Endra, son of Becka and Thoeben.[[Rara Avis]] member.
Thoben Bratenford was a fairly successful adventurer. He retired, wed, and was living well with his wife and teen children in the great city of Sarthel. The happily ever after seemed to be coming to pass until he was charged for trying to assassinate the chief first priest of ______. It is not known whether it was a case of mistaken identity or if there was some more nefarious plan at work. Thoben, although still alive, was gravely injured when fighting those that tried to arrest him. His wife, Brecka, handed over most of Thoben’s adventuring spoils in hopes of his release but after the small hoard was handed over it was made known that it was not enough. Brecka was further disheartened when the High King set the ransom so high that all hope for his release seemed impossible. Brecka was the forth daughter of the neighboring city’s cobbler, she had no hopes of getting more money from her family, nor was she an adventurerer. Emmick, Thoben’s 16 year old son, ever headstrong and fearless, vowed to somehow get the money to release his father. Thoben’s son was inexperienced in adventuring but was a quick learner at his father’s tutelage. Brecka did not want to lose her son as well as her husband but saw no other way to get such an exorbitant sum. The day that Emmick was to leave to start his unknown adventure, his 18 year old sister, Endra announced that she, too, would help in the acquiring of her Father’s freedom. Endra had also been taught by her father, but she spent much of her time in the woods eastward from town. The woodland creatures had been more faithful to her than any man and she practiced with her gifted bow many an afternoon and eve in the forest. She was also more level headed than her brother and has become quite protective of him because of the many occasions she had gotten his britches out of the fire. Her mother, although inept at both sword and bow, was blessed with a silver tongue and will do all in her power to sow the seeds of discontent in the city or gather any help from any that might offer.
